According to the first Hawaiian dictionary, "kahuna" is a contraction of "kahu" (to cook) and "ana" (adds "ing" to a word). Another translation for kahuma is "a caretaker".

Kahuna is a priest, expert, doctor or an administrator of some kind. Try thinking 'webkahuna' instead of webmaster.
