computer lab and/or A/V lab which specializes in
foreign language education.
On the computer side, there are interactive multimedia programs, as well as special pieces of software which allow computing in non-Roman languages, such as the Cyrillic languages, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hebrew, etc. A particular trick in language labs is to work in right-to-left reading languages.
Instructional videos and audio cassettes round out the A/V part of the typical language lab.
Usually there will be some way for students to record their voice and play it back, with the aid of tape decks or computer programs.
