A legrope is an extremely strong synthetic rope
used in surfing to tie the surfboard onto
the surfer's leg. The purposes of the legrope
are to keep the surfboard near the surfer to allow easy recovery, and to stop the
surfboard from getting away and hitting other people in the surf. A legrope is also known as a leash.
