loose trucks

When skateboarders ride with loose trucks, it means that the kingpin is not tightened down hard. This makes the bushings less compressed, and thusly, lets the truck turn more. Loose trucks are preferred by oldschoolers and people who ride longboards, because it is easier to carve a bowl with loose trucks.

The downsides to having loose trucks are:

  1. wheel bite
  2. speed wobbles
