--Images of black cancers blooming in your stomach and your brain.
--The knowledge that if someone is going to be trampled by a riotous crowd, it will be you. Sometimes this intuition mutates and spreads, until it becomes a social Darwinist pseudo-theory of general failure, explaining why you are always getting stepped upon or lagging behind.
--The fear of mirrors in the dark.
--The feeling that whatever room or building you may be in, or sky you may be under, is really just a trap, a subway tunnel caving in to bury you.
--The feeling that whoever you love is either insincere, about to die, or a figment of your imagination. |
