the term Residence Hall is used on many campuses, at least by the administration and the Residence Hall Government students to get across the message that they are not just some place people sleep, but a place people reside. The term has spread probably do to the large number of colleges and universities who are now members of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls ( often called NACURH.)
