it comforts you,
the gentle caress of the yellows and whites,
like reading in the sun.

it's a good book too,
you don't even remember falling asleep.

dreams of electric light,
the restlessness: flashing and falling,
who's there?

but... it's so sweet.
cold and lonely in bitter darkness.

nightmares today rival those from before,
but they now only come while the light is on.
