In linguistics, the word formation process in which only the audible emphasis of a syllable changes to create a new word. For example:

"reject" (verb, stress on second syllable) becomes "reject" (noun, stress on first syllable).
"combine" (verb, stress on second syllable) becomes "combine" (noun, stress on first syllable).
