A strobe light is a simple device using a variable resistor and a capacitor to create amusing blinking. When the potential difference on the capacitor equals the breakdown voltage of the bulb, it flashes. As resistance increases, time between flashes increases, as the capacitor takes longer to charge. Also not good for epileptics, I think. |
