NARRATOR: Long ago, there lived a king. People would come from across the kingdom to see their leader, but they were expected to bring a gift. If the gift was not acceptable, the king would throw them to the lions!
KING: Send in the next visitor!
PEASANT 1: Your Majesty, I have brought you gold and diamonds!
KING: Gold and DIAMONDS? I already have a kingdom filled with gold and diamonds! FEED HIM to the LIONS!
PEASANT 1: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
KING: Send in the next visitor!
PEASANT 2: Your Majesty, I have brought you raisins!
KING: Raisins? What are those?
PEASANT 2: You eat them, your Majesty. Try a few.
KING: (eats raisins) These are delicious! Come back in one week with more, or I shall feed you to the lions!
NARRATOR: A week passes, but the peasant does not show up. The palace guards search the countryside and find him hidden in the woods.
KING: Why have you not brought me my raisins, insect?
PEASANT 2: Sorry, your Majesty, but my rabbit died. |
