An American division of the Japanese publishing company Shogakukan. Also known as Viz Communications. They are an anime and manga distrubuitor in the United States, founded in 1987.

Notable titles include Ranma 1/2, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind(manga), and Key the Metal Idol. They are known for varible translation practices, from the excellent dub for key and the (according to nausicaa.net) accurate translation of Nausicaa to needlesly editing Maison Ikkoku and messing with Ranma. They tend to be a lot better than ADV or (the now out of the market) Streamline Video.

Also watch for Jin-Roh which is going to be released by them and Bandai in Spring 2001!
