One of the varieties of Pepperidge Farm Distinctive cookies.

These are personally my least favorite cookie. My mom used to keep buying them for some reason...

They are rather standard, buttery-flavored shortbread cookies. Their name derives from the fact that the cookies are approx. 3"X2"X1/4" rectangles decorated with a symbol corresponding to a chess piece.

I guess you could actually play chess with them if you so desired, but I imagine you would need to purchase a couple packages of these yucky cookies in order to have all the required pieces.

Perhaps most notable in that the Chessmen are the only Pepperidge Farm Distinctive Cookie that is not named after a city. In fact, I believe the only other snack that Pepperidge Farm makes with a non-city name are the popular goldfish.
