A Fourth Century religious convention that altered the Bible to create the existence of the trinity. This ideology was created for the purpose of creating a higher level of taxation on the people. This alteration of the Bible was brought to light by Erasmus in his writing Doctrine of the Trinity.

This humanistic publication is considered one of the forces behind Martin Luther's reformation. Both Erasmus and Valla, Donation of Constantine, raised questions about the sanctity of the Roman Empire.
