Generally, the concept of two devices being combined into one is called convergence.
Specifically, a wierd
idea that the
television is going to take over the function of your
computer, and every other useful
device in your house (i.e., your
stereo, your
VCR, your
toaster, etc.)
It makes a certain degree of sense- there's a lot of duplication of function between some of these devices. However, I think the
TV is too low-resolution (even
HDTV) to act as an effective monitor.
