London-based architectural firm consisting of Jan Kaplicky (born in Prague) and Amanda Levete (born in the UK). They make superlatively original, 'futuristic' constructions which sometimes resemble pods or insects. Buildings include the Hauer-King House in Islington and the NatWest Media Centre at Lord's Cricket Ground.
Their non-built designs and ideas are amazing, too. They love playing with new technology and green technology, especially self-sustaining buildings, and recently designed a building(the Zed Project) which generates its own energy using wind turbines and photovoltaic panels.
