Probably Bob Dylan's funniest song, 'Talkin' Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues' was scandalously based (albeit loosely) on a real incident in which rather a lot of people died. This may well be the main reason it didn't make it onto The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, for which it was originally recorded, but who can say? Dylan's habit of leaving many of his best songs off his albums is part of his mystique, I suppose. It eventually made its way onto the Bootleg Series, Volume 1.
