Devil's Food vs. Angel's Food
I did some baking this weekend, and although this has never occurred to me before, it stood out like a sore thumb this time. I discovered religious politics in baked goods.
- Angel Food Cake: Hours of suffering to make, but the end result makes it worth all the trouble. Very filling and rich. Comparison Heaven, the straight and narrow path, it's a hard road to hold, but you will reach paradise.
- Devil's Food Cake: Easy to make, not much kitchen time at all. Pour it out of the box and add some eggs and milk, biggity bam you got Satan Cake. Doesn't last long, and it's not very filling. Comparison Hell, anyone can achieve this just by expressing some desire. The wide and turning path, so much easier to follow.
