From the steampunk comic book Avigon by Che' Gilson and Jimmie Robinson; a complex automaton run with gears and powered by manual winding. Clockworks may also possess a CPU, which can be quite sophisticated. A sufficiently advanced Clockwork is essentially indistinguishable from a human.

Clockworks come in a variety of levels of complexity. The simpler ones perform menial labour, while the more complex ones may serve as man-servants, bodyguards, or more sundary purposes. Many are shaped like humans, but others are shaped like animals, mythical creatures, or anthropromorphic creatures.
