Real Name: Richard Colón
World famous
breakdancer, one of the longest lasting members of the
Zulu Nation, and while not one of the original members of the
Rock Steady Crew, he is probably the most widely known. He is currenlty a member of the
Ghettoriginal Production Dance Company, and continues to tour the world.
Crazy Legs joined the
Rock Steady Crew in 1978 after battling the current leader of the crew,
Jimmy D. He continued to earn respect by battling other
New York crews, and eventually became a top member of the
Rock Steady Crew. Through various contacts inside the
New York club scene, he eventually starred in many movies and even helped in the
choreography. While still a member of the
Rock Steady Crew, he formed
Ghettoriginal Production Dance Company with members from
Magnifacent Force and the
Rhythm Techniques. The new company wasn't to present
breakdancing on the street level, but to present it at proffesional theatrical level. In 1991 they were recognized by the
National Endowment for the Arts, and recieved two grants to forward their performances. He continues to perform at various
hip-hop shows around the world, working to spread
hip-hop culture.
