Every society needs its National Enquirer, and in the land of Harry Potter, that newspaper is called the Daily Prophet. Potter, of course, is the main character in a series of books by J. K. Rowling.

Like any good muckraking, yellow journalistic oracle, the Prophet seems to take great pleasure in inventing scandal and reporting disaster.

The slogan for the Prophet is Future Fates Foretold.

One of the fun things about this newspaper is that the photographs (like all pictures in the Potter books} are more like video cam portals than pictures. The subject of the photos can move around, look back at the reader and are always highly entertaining.
