Drummers

One thousand drummers drum
on the metal,  slamming it
from
       all
             sides
                     and
                           angles,
vibrating,
intense
and so loud that thinking is impossible.

The climax has been reached,
so now,
ever so soft,
slow
and lovingly,
the rain storm patters on my roof while I try to sleep.
