An abbreviation for Grain Neutral Spirits. It's usually about 95% pure, food-grade ethyl alcohol. Used for making fortified wines (sometimes brandy is used, too), for spiking things, for doing the fire-breathing trick, for general mayhem, and in personal care products. Everclear is probably the most common brand of GNS.
