Gottlieb Daimler was born in
Schorndorf,
Germany, on the 17
th of March 1834. Was one of the first to build an
automobile powered by a
gasoline-engine.
Founder of the
Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (
DMG), which later
merged with
Benz & Cie. to form the
Mercedes-Benz company (now part of the
DaimlerChrysler conglomerate).
Died in
Cannstatt on the 6
th of March 1900.
