A
children
's
book
by
Dr. Seuss
. The main character is a pink
elephant
named Horton. He is wading in a pool of water when suddenly he hears something! He hears a Who! Apparently there are a bunch of
little people
living on a speck of dust blowing by. Horton fears they will fall into the water and drown so he catches the speck and ever so gently places it on a
clover
. Horton is
determined
to protect them. A bunch of
thuggish
kangaroos surround Horton and harass him for his apparent
craziness
, listening to a clover plant. They set out to
destroy
the Who world and crush Horton's spirit in the process. But Horton remains determined and all the little
Whos
make as much noise as they can. But still the
kangaroo
s cannot hear them. So a Who man grabs a small Who and tells him to yell. And finally the kangaroo hears the little Whos.
And all is right with the world
