James Tiptree Jr. Memorial Award

The James Tiptree Jr. Memorial Award, named for Alice B. Sheldon, who wrote under the name James Tiptree Jr. is in the words of the people who give it " an annual literary prize for science fiction or fantasy that explores and expands the roles of women and men for work by both women and men. " The award is given out at Wiscon, and was started by Pat Murphy in 1991. James Tiptree Jr. Memorial Award winners include: Suzy McKee Charnas, Ursula K. Le Guin and Joanna Russ.
