Giammaria Ciochhi Del Monte

Became Pope in 1550 and died in 1555. Continued the reforming tendencies of Paul III.

Was a key figure in the second session of the Council of Trent. Also sent Cardinal Pole to England as an adviser to the recently crowned Mary Tudor, a catholic, with the aim of winning England back to the Roman Catholic Church.
