Live, on-stage performance

Maybe it's the crackling energy from the audience. Maybe it's the anticipation of the "do-or-die" actions about to happen. Maybe it's the feel of being the center of attention for hundreds of people.

Maybe.

Whatever it is, all I know is that whenever I get onto the stage, I feel an adrenaline rush. I look at the other members of my a cappella group as they feel the rush, too. We look into each others' shining eyes and feed off of each other. The audience attempts to hush itself into a low murmur, ready to burst out with applause at any moment.

Then there's that moment of silence before we start singing.

Time hesitates for an eternal moment.

God, I love this.
