When I was younger, in approximately 1982, I discovered Men Without Hats, with their Safety Dance. The effect on me was instantaneous and overwhelming... I always have, and always will love that song. The B-side (Security) is pretty good, too.
My Dad bought me their album for my birthday, it was called Business As Usual by Men At Work.
For years I thought this was an isolated incident of confusion, but coming forward nearly 20 years, I now find myself using Audiogalaxy - the morals of which, I believe, depend on your usage and intent.
But I digress. It seems that the confusion still occurs, judging by the number of Men At Work tracks listed under Men Without Hats.
I guess a lot of the cause is due to their similar names, combined with near simultaneous times of fame, but what can be done about this?
Quick reference:
Men At Work
Famous song: Down Under - "I come from a land down under"
Country of origin: Australia
Men Without Hats
Famous song: Safety Dance - "We can dance if we want to, we can leave our friends behind"
Country of origin: Canada
(I guess I should also mention that I have nothing against Men At Work, and quite like Business As Usual)
