The term given to most anywhere network peering occurs. Can be commercial or non-commercial. Most NAPs support some degree of public and private peering. Many NAPs are enormous well run data centers filled with gobs of equipment made by Cisco, Lucent, Juniper, Foundry, etc... other are no more elaborate than a broom closet.
