Belief that money will make a difference in the end.

In literal sense the belief dates t least back to time of pharaohs. Then it was the common custom to worry a lot about burial place and wealth that could be hoarded there after death. Wealth was thought to help in the ordeals of afterlife.

Nowadays belief isn't as literal as it used to be but it's still very much alive. Especially economic booms seem to lift it's popularity.

Leading idea behind the belief is that it's advantageous to sacrifice free time, relationships, health, happiness or everything in youth and middle age in exchange for money. Money is then used for buying meaning to free time, relationships, health or happiness when old and senile.

Practitioners of this belief can be identified from constant hurry, 40+ hour work weeks and general angst. They are not to be considered generally dangerous but exceptions do occur.
