A dimensionless number used in heat transfer in general and forced convection calculations in particular. Proportional to (Bulk Heat Transfer) / (Conductive Heat Transfer).

Pe = (D V rho Cp) / k

D: characteristic length, V: velocity, rho: density, Cp: heat capacity, k: thermal conductivity
