People will do anything stupid if they read it on a sign

I work in the computer lab. At the beginning of the scholastic year, we had a great many staplers, all in good working order. Over the course of many months, most were either borrowed for an extended period that has yet to end or broken due to abuse by the users (remember, the 'L' is silent).

At this point, the working staplers in our possession could be counted on one finger. In an attempt to hang on to that valuable resource for the remainder of the year, it's been chained to a table in the back of the lab. At the lab techs' desk, where the stapler used to reside, there is now a very large, neon-green sign informing curious parties of the stapler's new location.

Typical interaction between a lab tech and another student:

Student: (looks at large, easy-to-read sign)
Lab tech: Can I help you?
Student: Yeah, um, do you guys have a stapler?
