坂本 龍一
Ryuichi Sakamoto has been a musical pioneer since the 1970's, working with the fusion group Neo Geo, with the Yellow Magic Orchestra (meanwhile influencing current stars such as Ken Ishii), and as a solo performer. His work runs the gamut from neo-classical to techno. Some of his more recent releases include Casa, a collection of Antonio Carlos Jobim songs; BTTB, a collection of 16 short pieces for solo piano; and Discord, a recording of Sakamoto's piece Untitled 01 for orchestra, piano, guitar (Rip Torn), and electronics (DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid). He also wrote the scores for The Last Emperor and Tsubasa no Honneamisu. Mr. Sakamoto was also rumored to be composing the soundtrack to Final Fantasy IX, which was actually written by long-time Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.
Sakamoto's discography includes THIRTY solo albums, including film scores, but not including compilations, greatest hits albums, etc., as well eight albums as part of YMO.
His most recent album, CHASM, is notable for being only available electronically through the iTunes Music Store (well, along with being good)
