Sioux Not simply Dakotas, but the seven fires include Lakotas and Nakotas. They had many famous leaders beside Sitting Bull, including Crazy Horse, Spotted Tail, and Red Cloud. Existing in the present, so it is uninformed to say they were defeated at Wounded Knee. Also, the term is derogatory to many Native Americans as it is a corruption of an Ojibaway word meaning snake.
