| Monster-like beings from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki. Totoros come in various sizes and colors. The most popular one is O-Totoro, who is large, bouncy and grey. Totoros have characteristics from various animals, such as birds, fish, owls and more. They are also white and blue. Appeared in the 1988 film My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari No Totoro in Japan), which Hayao Miyazaki also wrote and directed. Released in 1993 via Troma films, and distributed on video by 20th Centurty Fox. Totoros seek out to help children in trouble. Only kids can see them, adults can not. Totoros tend to cluster in Camphor trees. |
