An article by philosopher Isaiah Berlin, who believed that both negative freedom (the power to do as one wishes without any external obstacles) and positive freedom (the obstacles we have are self-imposed) exist. He also believed that these must both exist together, as negative liberty alone would be chaotic and disorganized and positive freedom alone would lead to tyranny.
