One of the Northern most Universities in the world. It is one of the few Land, Sea, and Space grant institutions in the US. Marked by unique aurora studies supported by a low earth orbit rocket lauching facility to probe the upper atmosphere, a world class SAR facility, and the 10th most powerful super computer in the world. Founded circa 1917.
