A "business card" exchange format, specified by Internet Mail Consortium, available in RFCs 2425 and 2426.

This format was created to make exchange of personal information easier. It's a very handy format for managing address books, for example.

A single vCard entry can contain information such as name, URLs, e-mail address, phone numbers, and so on.

The most (in)famous program that supports this format is Netscape (Ever heard the phrase "Please don't attach your vCard to your news postings"? =) Other programs include, for example, GNOME Address Book and Microsoft's Outlook.
