Useful bit of Vector knowledge:

Any two vectors v and w whose signs for each component (i,j,&k) form an angle less than 90 degrees with each other.

This is because when any vectors components have the same sign, they point from the origin into the same octant. No two vectors pointing into the same octant make an angle more than 90 degrees.
