When there's multiple ways to do something, but some of them just aren't kosher, just don't jive, aren't professional, or are hazardous to your health or the health of others in some way, shape, or form. Sure, you can write good nodes, but writing them without putting any links in at all is just bad form. Yeah, you can bounce a landing in a plane, and it will keep your number of takeoffs equal to your number of landings, but it's just bad form.
