Practice of magic by the summoning and binding of entities, usually intelligent. Different practices basing symbolism off of different groups. Most common is a basis of Christianity and Judaism with a weird admixture of Greek and Egyptian mythology. Litterary examples include Prospero and Faust. Actual examples include (supposedly) Paracelsus. Seems to be dying out in favour of other forms of magic, and regarded by most as silly, immoral, or dangerous.
