A place where old people with plenty of time and/or money meet and do social stuff, usually to play golf. They usually have other activities as well such as tennis, swimming, dining, etc. As you might expect, there are hundreds of these in Florida.

A club usually located in the suburbs or vicinity of a city or town and devoted mainly to outdoor sports.
