Literally: "one metre of Alt". Popular device used in buying and drinking Alt beer in some regions of Germany. It consists of a wooden tray (rather a trough, actually) one metre in length, on which are fitted a large number of small (approx. 0.2 litres each) glasses of Alt (see also German Beer Metanode and Understanding German Beer Names). Should you ever come to a German pub, chances are that, behind the counter, you might find a strange, long tray with beer advertisement on it. Now you know what it's for. Yay!
