| Funny, lovable film by Brit director Mike Leigh, about a couple, Shirley and Cyril, who live in a small block of flats in North London. He's a bike courier with a hilariously hideous sister who's a wannabe Yuppie and an old mum, who lives in the only non-yuppified house in her street, and is beginning to lose her memory. It's a kind of slice-of-life film dealing with the weirdness of normal life and relationships, like most of his films. Well recommended. |
