Nubby is a sort of texture. Things that are nubby have, well, little nubs all over them -- raised protuberances, large in number and small in size relative to the size of the object. Berber carpet is nubby. Your tongue is nubby. Those silly flower-shaped stickers that go in the bottom of the shower/tub to keep folks from slipping are nubby.
