The non-discriminatory nature of this mass applying can cause a low motivation level to make call-backs to rude managers and snotty owners. Pounding the pavement should be avoided in favor of applying to only a few places that you really want to work at. The odds are higher that you will pursue such jobs with any gusto, and consequently be hired.
