An utterly useless NetHack ring. Wearing a ring of adornment will raise your Charisma score by the enchantment on the ring (+1, +2, whatever). The effect of Charisma in NetHack isn't much, amounting to certain bonuses/penalties concerning whether certain monsters will be peaceful or hostile, and a couple of other things not worth mentioning.

If you are waylaid by a nymph (any type) and possess a ring of adornment, she will attempt to steal this first, buying you a little time to prepare for her next onslaught. If you have one, you might want to hang on to it for this purpose.

If a ring of adornment is dropped in a sink, the faucets will "flash brightly for a moment," identifying the ring. You will probably lose the ring (90% chance).
