The Wired is the Internet of Serial Experiments Lain, a series of information available through computer technology. The Wired has it's own culture and society, just like the real world, it's own "god" (Eiri, the false god or Lain, the true one), etc.

One of the key arguments of Lain is the nature of the relationship between the real world and the Wired one. Is one more "real" than the other or are they both equally real? I can't draw any conclusions about this for you, you must decide for yourself what you think.
