I just read a letter I wrote to a friend about Hamlet. It is delightfully obtuse and a good indicator of how I used to write. It serves as a warning of how seclusion can create a system of 'inside jokes' that become garbage in other's eyes. Also, I was reading, imitating, and memorizing a passage of Shakespearian iambic pentameter: I practically dreamed in thees and thous during that period.

Jenna,

Our time to practice wears thin. I ask that you finish soon so that you make a proper decision regarding whether you want to act before Mr. Gitthens with me. I have, by earning the right, watched a modern version of Hamlet. It was made by those that included Leonardo Caprio in Romeo + Juliet. Like it as not, the film was the only copy on stock in the local Blockbuster. It was helpful none-the-less. By the wording of the play, Ophelia looks like a pushover. 'Yes brother, I will ignore Hamlet. Yes father, I will ignore Hamlet. Hamlet, why do you spurn me so?' This production portrayed instead a represssed Ophelia. An Ophelia that lived in a society where she is chattel.

When you do finish and should you decide to join me, I am open to portray either person. I advise that you act in this fashion whichsoever enmaddened tirade you depict. There are only three people that I passingly trust now that Alison has made flight to an earlier time. She would be bitterly fought over should she have remained.

I fear that I will not be able to succeed as I might elsewhere. I have no great like for this parade of death. The breaking of Lear was annoying enough, now all here be mad. I could not project 'To be or not' even were it not forbidden. I have no relation with these figures seeped in self-loathing and exasperation. I scarce trust myself to scream with the proper tone. As Hamlet is made to weep,"Listen to me, I must rile myself with words like a whore."

Enjoy the one day respite,
