Ingredients

• 3/4 cup vegetable shortening
• 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/3 cup water
• 1 t. vanilla
  Beat the above till creamy
  Add combined remaining ingredients:
• 3 cups oats, uncooked
• 1 cup all purpose flour
• 1 t. salt
• 1/2 t. baking soda
• (optional)2/3 cup raisins, chocolate chips or coconut slivers

Drop by rounded teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. I like to take a fork and press a # pattern onto the cookies to flatten them a littlebit. Preheat oven to 350. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
